Taylor serves as the Executive Director of Communications at New Schools for New Orleans, where she leads strategic messaging and storytelling efforts to champion public education in New Orleans. Prior to joining NSNO, Taylor spent nearly five years in the City of New Orleans’ administration, serving in both the Mayor’s Office of Communications and the Office of Human Rights and Equity.
A proud New Orleans native, Taylor earned her B.A. in International Studies and Political Science from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. She began her career in advocacy with the American Federation of Teachers and went on to build her communications and community experience through roles with the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and the Essence Festival of Culture. Driven by a deep belief in equity and opportunity, Taylor brings a decade of experience across sectors to her work at NSNO, where she is dedicated to amplifying the voices of educators, students, and families across the city.

Alexis serves as the Executive Director of Data Analytics at New Schools for New Orleans. Prior to joining NSNO, Alexis worked in the Native Achievement Programs division at the U.S. Department of Education, where she supported funding and monitoring work for two Federal grant programs. Earlier in her career, Alexis taught for seven years in public schools in the Bronx, New Orleans, and Jefferson Parish, and was a Fulbright teaching assistant for 10 months at a rural secondary school in Wamunyu, Kenya. She holds a B.A. in Political Economy from Fordham University, an M.S. in Education from St. John’s University, and a certificate in Data Science from the Flatiron School.

Kim serves as the Director of Operations at New Schools for New Orleans. Prior to joining NSNO, Kim worked for NOLA Public Schools, first as the Facilities Strategy Manager and later as the Director of Operations Strategy. In her time at NOLA-PS, Kim managed multiple lease compliance processes and drafted the administrative procedures that guided the first two years of the School Facilities Preservation Program, the state millage that dedicates funds for the emergency and strategic capital repair needs of all District-owned facilities. Over the COVID-19 pandemic, Kim led the distribution of over one million articles of tech, PPE and antigen tests, coordinated 45 community feeding sites and tracked positive cases throughout all District schools. A native of Philadelphia, Kim earned her undergraduate degree from Temple University and her graduate degree from the University of Georgia.

April attended the University of New Orleans. After graduating from UNO, she worked as an intern and later as an Administrative Assistant for the Recovery School District in the Curriculum Department. She was responsible for logistics, data disaggregation and assisting with the development of teacher training modules. Most recently, April worked for Choice Foundation Schools at Lafayette Academy Charter. Over the last 4 years, her work there focused on logistics, assessment data reporting, grading systems, and strategic planning.
