At NSNO, we believe our students, educators, and families are the experts on their own experiences. As a community, when we want to learn about teaching, we can listen to teachers. If we’re curious about what it’s like to learn and grow in our schools, we can turn to students themselves.

All The Pieces Matter: An NSNO Video Series
New Orleans public schools have achieved historic gains in student achievement, progress Tulane Professor Doug Harris has called “the largest, broadest, most sustained improvements academically” he has seen from any school district. These results reflect more than 20 years of collective effort by educators, students, families, policymakers, and community partners. Yet important work remains. Through NSNO’s new video series, All the Pieces Matter, CEO Dana Peterson will bring together education leaders and community voices to celebrate what is working, recognize the people driving progress, and tackle the challenges shaping the future of New Orleans public education.

Across the country, school systems are confronting declining enrollment, changing demographics, and growing financial pressure. The Future is Smaller: What New Orleans Learned Before America Had To explores what New Orleans’ experience can teach cities navigating school closures, consolidation, and the difficult work of building stronger, more sustainable systems for students.
