Across the city, most schools will be reopened by September 22. Some schools are requiring a negative COVID-19 test before students can return to class. NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS) “strongly encouraged” it, and offered sites around the city for students and families to get tested, as did many schools and networks.

The state has the power to lower the instructional time requirement in the wake of disasters, but Superintendent Cade Brumley has not done so yet.
