Residents of Districts 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 Will Vote on School Board Members

This Saturday, December 5th, is Election Day in New Orleans. A number of important local positions and issues are up for a vote, including many seats for the Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB). This role has an enormous impact on the lives of our children and educators.

Patrick Dobard, CEO of New Schools for New Orleans (NSNO), had conversations with all of the OPSB candidates over the course of the fall. You can access archived conversations here.

Here are the candidates up for election this Saturday:

DISTRICT 2

There will be a runoff for District 2 between:

  • Ethan Ashley (Democrat, incumbent) and
  • Chanel M. Payne (Democrat).

DISTRICT 4

There will be a runoff for District 4 between:

  • Leslie Ellison (Democrat, incumbent) and
  • Jancarlo “J.C.” Romero (Democrat).

  • Katherine Baudouin (Democrat) and
  • Antoinette Williams (Democrat).

By electing our school board members, we help shape our children’s futures. Polls will be open from 7:00am until 8:00pm on Saturday. You can find your polling place here. No matter who is chosen for each seat, we look forward to working together to make education in New Orleans excellent.
