2021 LEAP Results Expected Next Week

The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) will release information soon about how students performed on the Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (LEAP). New Orleans schools to offer weekly COVID tests and vaccines, but no shot mandate

In an effort to keep children in the classroom and infection rates down, New Orleans Public Schools (NOLA-PS) will offer free COVID-19 testing and vaccinations for the upcoming school year. The testing and vaccinations will not be required, but NOLA-PS will offer financial incentives for those willing to be tested.

Fighting for Our Children through Policy & Advocacy

NSNO works to help and protect our students through policy and advocacy work. This spring, that included working on several issues, among them the harmful HB564 & SB156 bills, which would have prevented teachers from teaching the realities of racism and misogyny in our schools, and aimed to keep trans girls from playing on girls’ sports teams.
