To our community,

The immense challenges of this past year have been heavy and hard to hold. We have faced so much, and we continue to do so.

Amidst all the tragedy, I personally find stability in our community. I believe New Orleans has an unmatched sense of resilience. We maintain a drive not just to persist, but to create, even in the face of disaster.

Our schools exemplify this. Whether it was our teachers rolling whiteboards into their living rooms as they took on the gargantuan task of virtual teaching, counselors thoughtfully addressing trauma, schools setting up feeding sites immediately after the building closures in March, then launching into distance learning, and managing operations of safe reopening this fall, New Orleans schools stand out for their innovation and determination.

Our team at NSNO feels immense gratitude for these educators and school teams, as well as for our amazing students and all they have accomplished. In 2021, we will keep up our hard work in service of their efforts.

We will persist and create. And we could not do this without your engagement and support. Thank you for being a part of our work.

With great appreciation,

Patrick Dobard
